Cranberry Bliss Bar Dupe

Cranberry Bliss Bar Recipe

The Bar portion:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted

  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon orange blossom water or orange extract

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • 3/4 cup Cranberries

The Topping:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon orange blossom water or orange extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup Craisins, roughly chopped

  • 2 squares white baking chocolate or almond bark, melted

THE BREAK DOWN:

Make it stand out

1) Alright crank that oven to a solid 350 degrees, fam. Grab a 15×10 or 13×9 inch jelly roll pan or cookie sheet and line it up with some parchment paper. This will give a flatter overall product. If you want it THICK like the ones at Starbucks just use a smaller pan with a higher lip. Completely up to your preference.

2) No need for fancy mixers, just grab a bowl and stir up that melted butter and brown sugar with a wooden spoon or spatula. Toss in them eggs, 1 tsp orange blossom water or extract if that’s what you’re on, and 1 tsp vanilla extract, keep stirring till it's all blended. Now, drop in the ground ginger, baking powder, salt, and flour, and mix it up without going overboard. If you go too hard, something about flour chemistry will make it too dense instead of nice and chewy (don’t ask me about the science).

3) Hand-mix them white chocolate chips and cranberries into the batter, then spread it out evenly in the pan. Toss that bad boy in the oven for 18-22 minutes until it's set and got that golden edge. Don't let it get too hard, though, I suggest poking it with a toothpick and you want it to come out clean but a little moist looking. When it's done, pull it out, let it cool on a wire rack.

4) No need for a fancy mixer for the frosting either. Hand-whip that room temperature cream cheese and powdered sugar till it's smooth as silk. Add in 1/2 tsp of your orange blossom water or extract and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, mix it up good. Slather that frosting on the cooled bars. Sprinkle some chopped cranberries on top and drizzle that white chocolate.

5) You can either slice and dice right away or pop it in the fridge for about an hour to let it set. Cut it up into triangles like a PRO and Enjoy!
